Overview

A flash mob is a group of people who promote spontaneity and entertainment by assembling in a public place for the sole purpose of performing an unusual act for a short period of time. When this predetermined time is up the group disperses as if the event never occurred. Through the use of the Internet and telecommunications, the flash mob can organize its performance. Flash mobs supposedly began in New York but countries all over the globe have been participating in this craze.
